I have Fought a good fight, I have Finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day. And not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7-8 RSV).
Now, everybody has a divine course to fulfill in life. According to the book of psalms 139:16b (RSV) And in thy book all my members were written which, in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
Now, God gave each person all the members gifts, talents, connections, abilities needed for one to fulfill the perfect will of God which is the divine course for that person.
Just as a course has course outline, so is the divine course and just as a course has stages and series of programs so is the divine course; it has stages and series of programs. In other words trainings and experiences.
Attached to the divine course are supernatural blessings. Until one finds out and fulfils the perfect will of God (divine course) he will not be able to bear fruit. So, without bearing fruit one has no place in God. One’s existence on earth has no heavenly recognition. (John 15:2, 5-8; Romans 8:19-23). Therefore, it is expedient one finds the perfect will of God concerning every matter in his life.
Top 10 Ways to Find The Perfect Will Of God
Here are top 10 ways to find the perfect will of God
Through The Studying Of Scripture
The scripture is God’s Holy Book which contains His divine programs and plans for mankind. It is all encompassing; there is absolutely nothing missing in the scripture.
According to (2 Timothy 3:16-17 RSV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
You see, the scripture is there to direct everyone to the perfect will of God. So, one must search this written word of God continually to find the perfect will of God. Everything must be based on the scripture. The scripture should be read to all believers (1 Thessalonians 5:27).
2. Through Prayer
In the book of Matthew chapter 6 verses 1-8 Jesus condemned the acts of prayer of the hypocrites. He taught us the manner of prayer in verses 9 to 13. He said in verses 10 that asking God for His kingdom to come and for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven are the most important and foremost supplications to be made to God.
One thing about God is that He is not an intruder. In as much as He desires to reveal Himself to mankind, and also have communion with man, He does not come to any man uninvited. He must be invited.
One of the most paramount ways to invite Him is by prayer (Psalms 50:15, Jeremiah 33:3, Luke 18, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17). So, one who prays exposes himself to knowing the perfect will of God.
3. By Godly Parentage
It is no doubt that parents influence the lives and destinies of their children greatly. These influences can be positive or negative. If you have a godly parents they will show you the way of God. In other words teach you how to pray, study the bible, moral and societal ethics.
Godly parents also teach their children how to be fully engaged in fellowshipping and services of God. The children grow up knowing God and His perfect will for them and living lives worthy of emulation.
Ungodly parents on the contrary, will definitely lead their children wrongly thereby polluting them. Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. (Proverbs 20:11 RSV).
The doings, actions, activities, abilities and reasons of a child shows the trainings he has received from his parents and his vision in life.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverb 22:6). The perfect will of God is for everyone to become a disciple of Christ. So, parents have great roles to play so as to actualize this in their children.
4. Through Mentorship
Now, A mentor is someone whom you submits to in order to grow and become better in life. So, something must attract you to somebody so as to be mentored. One of the things that attracts a mentee to a mentor is the mentor’s lifestyle which is multifaceted when analyzed deeply.
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others (2 Timothy 2:2). You can see that Apostle Paul mentored Timothy to be a godly child of God. Also, to know the perfect will of God concerning his life.
He instructed Timothy not to deviate from his teachings and doctrines. Also to commit those things to faithful people. In other words to mentor others after the pattern of Paul’s mentorship.
So, it is expedient for you to submit to godly mentors as God uses them to direct your paths to His perfect will for your life.
5. Through Men Of God
And he gave some, Apostles, and some prophets; and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13 RSV).
Now, you can see that men of God otherwise called servants of God as stated in the verses above include Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. God uses them to unveil His perfect will per time.
I want you to note that, the purpose of having them is for perfection of one’s life and to come to the full knowledge of Christ.
6. Through Fellowship and Kingdom Service
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another: and so much more as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25 RSV).
The scripture encourages believers not to forsake the gatherings of believers. Activities carried out during fellowship and kingdom service include praises and worship.
So, fellowshipping together and being active in kingdom service helps one to find out the perfect will of God concerning his life and destiny.
7. Through Sacrifices
According to (1kings 3:4-14 RSV) King Solomon sacrificed humongous sacrifice to God and God appeared to him in the dream of the night and grant him his heart desires.
So, God blessed him exceedingly and show him His perfect will. I want you to note, that sacrifice is one of the things that can draw God’s attention to any person. Also Noah offered unto God a quality sacrifice and God established an everlasting covenant with him. See (Genesis 8:19-22).
8. By Keeping Godly Companions
Companions here are friends, relations and spouse. Godly friends, relations and spouse can lead one into discovering the perfect will of God. It can be achieved through prayers, advice and by compelling one to be involved in fellowship and service unto God.
So, one of the most powerful companions is the spouse. That is why you must be careful of your companions especially your spouse.
9. Through Your Instinct
Now, God sometimes speaks to you by your instincts. It is one of the ways in which God communicates with us. On the other hand, God is always willing to unveil something paramount to you through your instinct.
So, whenever you obey your instinct it leads you to the perfect will of God.
10. By Inclination
You can study your child’s inclination and train him up in that so as to be useful to the nation and society at large. On the other hand, inclination is the one of the powerful secrets that leads to one’s greatest discoveries and achievements.
So, it is like a magnet that attracts and magnets one’s interest and mind thereby bringing out the potentials that are embedded in any individual for societal growth and development.
However, for one to fulfil his destiny and excel in life you must align to the perfect will of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ through His suffering and death on the cross was able to find out the purpose of God concerning His life.
So, as you can see for you to be that which God has destined you to be you must discover the perfect will of God concerning Him.
