2 Corinthians 1:20
Patience is an inevitable ingredient of life but unfortunately many can’t comply with its demand. The purpose of patience is to teach you adherence to process which leads to fulfilment. Because God is the author of process. He demonstrated it at creation by breaking the stages of creation into several segments. It was a day by day process. God will never compromise his principles irrespective of human pressure. If you are not patient you are simply despising process and the originator of the same. However, you need to know that patience brings fulfilment of promises.
Patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious. It means you can remain calm, even when you have been waiting forever or dealing with something painstakingly slow or trying to teach someone how to do something and they just don’t get it. Now, God’s intention is to perfect man’s blessing while exercising patience. Sometimes, when God makes a promise, the time He will eventually fulfill it may take longer than expected. During this period, you are faced with a lot of internal and external forces that may tilt you to other directions that are not godly. The internal factor can be just like in Hannah’s case. The external factors can be discouraging words from family, friends, your environment and the devil himself. These things can derail you from focusing on God’s promises. However, you need to know that His promises are yea and amen. So you need to patiently wait like Abraham did for the fulfillment of God’s promise upon his life. Oftentimes, there are those who find themselves in situations that they think require immediate divine intervention, and then begin to pray. However, they soon become panicky when nothing seems to change. This happens more when the issues are particularly time sensitive; the deadline is imminent, yet nothing has changed. When you are in that kind of a situation, don’t panic or get into a frenzy; be patient. Sometimes, those things you expect or desire to happen quickly don’t happen for one reason; lack of patience. You have to learn the power of patience in your faith. While you are expressing faith, you must also demonstrate patience.
