Life is full of mysteries. We do not understand so many of them and we may not, because you are formed to be different.
What made him demonic, we know not. As Jesus came out of the boat, the man ran to meet Him. We see three forces at work in this man, Satan, society and saviour. This has been the trend and it is still the same in our days. Never underestimate the destructive power of Satan. This man could not be bound. He was battered. Check the sin, habit or a lifestyle that is in you. The solution is not in you. A greater power must be sort. You need the attention of our lord Jesus Christ. The society could not render help to this young man. They isolated him chained him and put him under guard. Even to tame him failed. No scientific achievements have solved the problems caused by Satan and sin. The third force was meeting of this man with Jesus. He completely opened up to Jesus that he was not alone. He needed total and complete evacuation. The lord dug deep into his life to evacuate the legion of demos about 2000-6000 demons. As you meditate on this passage, please allow the lord to dig out your sinful life and evacuate the rubbish. Open up to Him. You can see that the man healed by Jesus is sitting down for the first time as a normal human being (Luke 10:39). He was fully clothed (dressed) with humility, 1peter 5 vs 5, with power in Luke 24vs 49 and he was beginning to understand and speak heavenly language. He became an evangelist in ten cities that made up his district or local government. May your time of manifestation attract a large crowd of witnesses.
Jesus left the man with a living testimony that took over the entire region. Do not be a pulpit evangelist, go and show it at home. This man was battered before meeting the lord but has changed as soon he met Jesus and became an world evangelist as he left Jesus. what have you been formed to be? The world, friends and family members are waiting to hear you, because you are formed to be different.
It was bad enough that king Saul lacked men, but it was even worse that the few men he had were ill equipped. For you to be successful in life, it is expedient that you are armed for battle.
All blacksmiths in Israel had been deported to the philistines. This has always been the strategy of the enemy in order to cause the children of God to “faint in the day of battle” (Proverbs 24:10). Some of the silent destructive strategies of the enemy include, government taking over mission schools, no religious open air crusades, no prayer at school morning assemblies, sensitive positions in government being manned by particular ethnic groups, postings are no more on merit but on religious quota system etc. Jonathan had discovered that his father, Saul had lost out. He however strongly believes that the nation and his father could be rescued. Faith in God and confidence will not let him sit down. While our fathers (the churches) are yet sitting down under the pomegranate tree, I am seeing the Jonathan’s of our days being in custody of the only other available Armour (faith and Holy Spirit). Beware of sitting under the tree of despondency with a discipler or church leader who seems to have outlived his usefulness in ministry. Quit yourselves like men, move with the new vision the lord is showing you. Be armed with your total reliance on God. You must help to rescue the land. Your “fathers” failure must not plunge the nation (church) into total collapse. Remember that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God. Take the name of Jesus with you. Take initiative. Be a burden bearer. Be courageous and stay focused. Stay connected and be fully armed for battle.
Expect oppositions but victory is yours. God honours faith and faith honours God. Note that you are the last hope of this generation. operate with a humble heart. Your victory is assured. You are God’s battle axe (Jeremiah 51:20). let your prayer be “lord! Shape, Sharpen and arm me for revival in my days.
Responsibility and accountability, are two strong issues of life that must be worked by every believer, because loose lips sink ships.
Those who teach the word of God do face the stricter judgment in one way or the other. We must use our tongue to share God’s truth because it is easier to commit sins of the tongue. Our sharing, becomes hypocrisy if we do not practice what we teach. You must admit, that you stumble in many ways. The person who is able to discipline, his tongue gives evidence that he can control his whole body. Note that words usually leads to deed’s, and loose lips wreck lives. If you make an unguarded statement, you may find yourself involved in a fight. Your tongue, has forced the rest of your body to defend itself. We have an old nature, that wants to control us and make us sin. There are circumstances, around us that would make us say things we ought not to say. Sin on the inside, and pressure on the outside are seeking to get control of the tongue. Watch out, both the bit and the rudder, must be under the control of a strong hand. The expert horse man keeps the mighty power of his steed under control, and the experienced captain courageously steers the ship through the storm.
If the lord Jesus Christ, is the lord of your heart then He must control your tongue. Also, never underestimate the guidance you give by the words you speak or do not speak. The lord spoke to a woman at a well in sychar, and her life and the lives of her neighbors experienced a miraculous change. peter preached at Pentecost, and three thousand souls were saved through faith in Christ. Edward Kimball, in 1855 went into a shoe store in Boston and led D.L. moody to Christ, the result, is one of the history’s greatest evangelist. A man whose ministry still speaks and books widely read. The tongue, has the power to direct others to the right choices. Bible says, in proverbs 18:21, death and life are in the power of the tongue. It is important, that our tongues direct people in the right way, for loose lips sink ships.
Worry or anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, instead it empties today of its strength, therefore take no thought for your life for God is more than able to supply all your needs.
It is a picture of a ship being tossed in a storm. Worry is destructive. One can be worried because he has too much while another is worried because he does not have enough, but the result is the same. Worry convinces us, that life is made up of what we eat and what we wear. We get so concerned about the means that we totally forget about the end, which is to glorify God. You must remember, that there is a great difference between making a living and making a life. Worry is deceptive. It blinds you to the world, around you and the way God cares for His creation. The Lord is encouraging you to trust Him, and cooperate with Him using your God giving abilities and opportunities. One problem with worry is that it makes you blind to itself. We can get to the place where we actually think that worry accomplishes good things in our lives, but it is false. Instead of adding to our lives, our worries rather take away from our lives. We can worry ourselves into the hospital or into the grave. If God feeds the birds, He will surely feed His children. The problem is not His little power; for He can do all things, the problem is your little faith. You must come to an understanding, that worry is deformity. It keeps you from growing, and make you like the unsaved in the world. The fact is that worry is unchristian; worry is sin. You must win over worry by realizing that God knows your need, so you can trust Him to meet them. We are sheep in His flock, children in His family, and servants in His kingdom, and He will see to it that our needs are fully met. God’s pleasure to give us the kingdom and our treasures must go together.
If your heart is fixed on the transient things of earth, then you will always worry. But if it is fixed on eternal, then God’s peace will guard your mind and heart. You must hang loose when it comes to this world’s goods, and be willing even to sell what you have in order to help others. If you allow worry to deform you; it may be too difficult to have what will reform you. It is not wrong to own things, so long as things do not own you. Quiet tension is not trust. It is simply compressed anxiety. So take no thought for your life, because nothing is too difficult for God.
We are living today in a world that is governed by oppressors. Across the globe, an average leader of nations and communities is an oppressor except the remnants who have the fear of God in their hearts. Therefore, understanding that this world is like a vegetable garden that can perish anytime; will help you show people under you love.
Now, vegetables are parts of plants that are consumed by humans or other animals as food. The original meaning is still commonly used and is applied to plants collectively to refer to all edible plant matter, including the flowers, fruits, stems, leaves, roots, and seeds. Originally, vegetables were collected from the wild by hunter-gatherers and entered cultivation in several parts of the world, probably during the period 10,000 BC to 7,000 BC, when a new agricultural way of life developed. Now, leaders like Ahab are selfish and discontented with what they have. Their kingdom (kingship and domain) never satisfy them. They look down on every other person. They demand for and hardly give out. Your life is in danger if your vineyard is within their reach. They have no regard for other people’s inheritance. In this story, if the request by the king is for national safety and palace security or for a glorious need, one may reluctantly possibly consider it, but the issue before us is that someone’s inheritance would become a vegetable garden. There is this saying that, a poor man don’t have brothers. How comes that the king who had access to any kind of mobility and can have as many servants as he wanted and can have as many vineyards as he liked, must drive the poor Naboth from his vineyard? If the king had a better one to give, why was he not contented with that? King David’s dealing with Uriah’s wife is a case to be studied. Death is often the result of the oppressed. Most of them die in the flower of their pursuits. These oppressors hate negative response to their requests. If you are among those who are treated like this because your vineyard is near the King’s palace, I plead with you to report your case quickly to God. Cry for help so that you will not be finished before your time. If you are highly placed to any position in the nation, community, church or anywhere, and you regard no one else but are looking down on others in order to make their inheritance your vegetable garden, please beware! God’s wrath is awaiting such. It may look like it is delaying but it would surely come. Note that no condition is permanent. And masters please treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that He who is both their master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with Him (Ephesians 6:9).
As a leader if you deny others their rights, God will not spear you. You will reap what you sow. Therefore, don’t be discontented because we are like vegetable garden that can perish in a twinkle of an eye be properly guided.
