Understanding The Path To Greatness

Understanding The Path To Greatness

Genesis 39:4-9

Greatness is not about becoming a boss; but is about being a servant. Greatness is not measured by accumulation, but by distribution of things. What you have acquired makes you an achiever; but what you do for others is what gives you fulfillment, so understanding the path to greatness gives you edge over your equals.

When you hear understanding the path to greatness, it suggests that there is a process through which greatness emerges. As a child of God, God has deposited a measure of greatness in you; but it is the process you undergo to harness it that will determine if your greatness will actually emerge or not. Now greatness is the quality of being distinguished, eminent or influential. Virtually all human beings have an inherent desire to be great, but only few end up attaining greatness. So understand that you have the capacity to do greater things; than what Jesus did while here on earth. Jesus is described as the bright and morning star; that means that the least you can be is a star. It is now clear that greatness is inside you waiting to be harnessed; the ingredients of greatness are inherent in you, but you have to learn the skill of putting these ingredients together. Great men and women often combine their top leadership position with special abilities, vast wealth, authority and influence. Although most people believe that greatness is attained through personal effort, superior knowledge, special wisdom or hard work. Moreover, children of God must learn that appointing someone into a position of authority by manipulation or without God’s approval, does not confer greatness upon such a fellow. In reality, no one can achieve true greatness by personal effort, manipulation or human connections.

True greatness can only come by God’s appointment and empowerment, and the pathway to it goes through the fear of God. Anyone who desires to be great therefore, must have deep reverence for God. The bible testifies to the fear of God being present in all the fathers of faith, before God bestowed greatness upon them. In Genesis 22:12, Abraham received an irreversible promise of greatness after God acknowledged his fear of Him. Also Joseph’s, dream of greatness was fulfilled because he feared God. The Lord blessed the later end of Job more than his beginning, because he feared Him. Therefore understanding the path to greatness, is what it takes for your greatness to emerge.

The Wonders Of Bargaining With God

Wonders Of Bargaining With God

1 Samuel 1:9-11

The wonders of bargaining with God is that, Serving God and the interest of His kingdom as a lifestyle, puts you in command of all things that others are dying or struggling to get.

Now those who genuinely bargain with God, are naturally free from the affliction of sicknesses and diseases, among others. For instance, Moses was in active kingdom service and the Bible records that at one hundred and twenty years, his eyes were neither dim nor his natural force abated. Also, as long as the twelve disciples were with Jesus serving, none of them was reported sick. Thus, active stewardship entitles you to health, vitality and longevity, thereby, making you indestructible. Therefore our heavenly Father is so gracious to us that even though He is omnipotent, He still allows us to bargain with Him when the need arises. Agreements between God and mankind can be broadly classified under three categories; covenants, vows and oaths. Covenants are solemn agreements or promises which are confirmed by sacrifice, or the sharing of a meal as a token of the commitment of both parties, to uphold the articles of the covenant they have made. An example of this is the covenant between Jesus Christ; and His Church which we invoke through the Lord’s Supper. On the other hand, vows are pledges made to God as part of an appeal for something of great importance. It can also be viewed as a promise to God to do something, with the implication that failure to perform what is promised will result in divine sanctions. The fulfillment of vows, is conditioned on the granting of a request.

Then, an oath is a binding promise with the invocation of repercussions for failing to fulfill the promise made. The curse or negative consequence, will be carried out if the oath is broken. At different times and for diverse reasons, Abraham, David , Solomon, Paul and others proved the efficacy of bargaining with God, and none of them was by any means disappointed. Entering into an agreement with God; in order to resolve a difficult issue or in order to get God to move in your favor is highly recommended, but you must not fail to fulfill your promise to Him. So the wonders of bargaining with God, is that inexplicable but undeniable settlement will follow you.

You Are Designed To Care For The Needy

You Are Designed To Care For The Needy

Proverbs 19:17

Some people have the wrong idea that whenever they give an offering in Church, they are making a donation to support the Church. No, your offering isn’t a donation but an oblation; because you are designed to care for the needy.

Now caring for the needy, is an issue that is very dear to the heart of the Almighty God. For instance Deuteronomy 15:11 says; For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land. So according to the above scripture, God reveals His mindset to us concerning the poor. Because God is sovereign, it is needless to ask why there should be poor people in the land, and it is equally unwarranted to query Him as to why He did not put an end to poverty. The good thing is that God has made provision, for the needy in His infallible word. It is left for you to obey His commands, and be blessed in return. Because is an act of worship. It’s a testimony of your faith in the living God. When you give your offering to the needy, you are testifying to God from your spirit, to your own spirit, and to demons and devils of darkness, of your faith in the living God; there’s a spiritual connection that. So, when you give to the poor, the Lord marks it, because you are lending to Him, and He will repay you, because that poor man can’t pay you back. So, He blesses you for it.

Therefore someone is in need when he or she lacks what matters for his or her existence, and we are commanded to meet such needs if we are in a position to do so. From our anchor scripture, you see that it was not just a situation, of the people not having money to buy food; but also that there was no food to buy. This shows that money can be of no use, when what you need is not available to buy. You should therefore learn that the needy are not just those who don’t have food, clothes or money; even rich people among us can be in serious need of things that money cannot buy, so you are designed to care for the needy.

You Must Be Confident In The Days Of Crisis

You Must Be Confident In The Days Of Crisis

Mark 4:35-41

No mortal man has the ability, to give answer to all the challenges of life. The only one who can solve, all problems of life is Jesus Christ. So, whether you have a crisis in the Church or on your job, at home or in the country where you live, you must be confident in the days of crisis.

Now, from our anchor scripture, Jesus was with His disciples in a boat out on the water; when they encountered a great storm. The disciples were very afraid but Jesus, on the other hand, was fast asleep. When the disciples woke Him up to see if He could help them, Jesus got up and simply spoke to the storm, Peace! Be still. And the seas were calm again. When difficult times come, you don’t have to be overwhelmed by the waves of worry or fear. Just as Jesus stood up and spoke to the storm, you have power in your words, too. As a believer, the Bible tells us that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. That means, God’s miracle working power is on the inside of you. He has given you His authority to declare peace over your home, over your mind, and over your family. Therefore no  doubt, life in a sense is like the sea. A characteristic of the sea is that storms of varying degrees arise, putting the lives of those sailing on it in jeopardy of being drowned. In Jesus name, the storms of life will not be able to drown you, your family and your business. While literal storms are natural phenomena, the storms of life are often generated and directed to an individual by enemies. Whether it is by enemies in the flesh or in the spirit realm, every situation that would constitute a storm in your life shall be disappointed in Jesus name.

This is why I command, whatever storm you may be experiencing now to be calm in Jesus name. As you sail on the sea of life to fulfil your destiny, the devil and his allies are not happy because your success is also going to result in the blessing; and deliverance of others. So stop running helter skelter to dubious men all over the place; they will only compound your problems. Remember, no matter what storms may come against you, the Greater One lives on the inside of you, and He will empower you to live in victory; this is why you must be confident in the days of crisis.

The Wonderful Secrets Of Abundance

The Wonderful Secrets Of Abundance

Genesis 26:12-14

To be a true success in life, you must understand the wonderful secrets of abundance. Abundance is not just having money, but having it to the point that you don’t experience lack anymore. I am talking about the wealth with a covenant root; just like Abraham’s wealth is still speaking in Israel till today.

For you to understand the secrets of abundance means walking in the Word; living out the Word, because the Word of God is the secret of God. The great men and women of faith we read about in the Bible, distinguished themselves by following God’s Word. For instance in Joshua 8:1-24; Joshua walked with God according to the instructions he received from the Lord, and recorded remarkable victories for the children of Israel. So you must be prepared to work hard if you want abundance. Nevertheless, it is quite a different thing to work hard, and another thing to experience abundance. Although God may grant you open doors to financial favour, it is your responsibility to work towards getting to the pinnacle of all round abundance. To achieve this, you will be required to do a great deal of hard work. Diligence in hard work is always rewarded. Farmers work hard to reap beautiful harvest. When farmers sow seeds, they begin to grow, but weeds also alongside the seeds sown. Therefore, besides nurturing the good seeds, you must also work hard to get rid of weeds. You are not only expected to work hard, but also to pray hard. Anyone who desires an encounter with the Almighty, which would yield the ultimate abundant blessing, must be ready to work and pray hard. Because no good parent will want to see their child suffer in lack, God blesses you to make you enjoy life; not to endure life.

Maintaining The Price Of Being A Standard

Maintaining The Price Of Being A Standard

Daniel 3:14-18

Standard life is a costly endeavor. There is a price, for maintaining  a great standard life you see today. Many people are not interested in paying the price for standard life, but yet expect to see results, so maintaining the price of being a standard is very important.

Now according to Mathew 13:44-46, Again the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. So every prize has a price. The level of dignity you command; is a function of the price you are willing to pay. Every great accomplishment, therefore is a product of a great price paid. Every global impact will, demand a global price. There is no short cut to greatness, and there are no short cuts to anywhere of great importance. The price of being a standard or trailblazer, is indeed very high. Self discipline will be required of you; if you desire to be a standard among your contemporaries. From our anchor scripture, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego are good examples of people who paid the price to be a standard. Although they were captives in a strange land, they stood up to be counted for their loyalty to the God of Israel, even though it came at a high price that required them to pass through King Nebuchadnezzar’s fiery furnace.

One point to note from this story is that the king’s decree was not only directed at the Hebrew boys; it was for all officials in the realm of the king, including a number of other Jews. Only God knows how many of those other Jews allowed their faith to be compromised; in order to avert the King’s anger. I suppose they were many. In any case, the stand taken by the three Hebrew boys was the price they had to pay to become standards for the other Jews to follow. We must learn from Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego that to become a standard, we must first stand out. Therefore maintaining the price of being a standard is vital.

Living A Life Of Consistent Change

Living A Life Of Consistent Change

Mark 2:22

Your future is about you, and your results depend on you. You are the secret of your life; you are the secret of your secret. Expectation is right, but it much better if you are living a life of consistent change.

Now doing the same thing, in the same way will always give you same results. Change, is the only vital force in the school of success that engenders greatness. Change invite results and fertilize zeal. Change introduce originality, and sustain innovation. If you don’t change, you might end up in chain. Change set free from old life; and initiate into a new life of unlimited success. Therefore change does not take place by changing location, nationality or church; no, change takes place when you change. Nothing can ever change, until you change. Change is not moving to a new location; because an Alligator cannot change to a Crocodile no matter the change of location. So change, begins with you changing. Until there is a change on your inside, there cannot be a change around you. There has to be a change on your inside first; before you can effect changes around you. It is a changed man that changes the world. It is your change that can determine; the extent to which you can change others. There cannot be a change, until there is a change in your character; because character is the real you and the foundation for success. Now change fuel hope and bring rest to life. When there is Change, there is assurance. Change birth promise, promise provokes energy, energy attracts result. The end result of change is result.

One change will affect other change, and no change will stagnate life. You cannot live today, the way you are lived yesterday. Change is the promise factor in the school of life. In simple terms, the kind of genuine change that leads to transformation is impossible without God. Human institution can successfully reform, rehabilitate, refine or even improve a person, but real conversion from sinner to saint cannot be achieved without divine intervention. For this reason, those who desire genuine change in all ramifications of life must come to God by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of God into their lives. Are you one of those seeking real change; this is why living a life of consistent change is important for you.

Let Your Light Shine For All To See

Let Your Light Shine For All To See

Matthew 5:16

The significant of light in the life of every creature is important. When ever, there is light every where will be bright; so let your light shine for all to see.

Therefore it is your approach to God, that determines your attitude and countenance. When you approach God with boldness, thankful for His grace and confident that He loves you and He is for you, you can’t help but be full of light. However, a legalistic, religious approach to God steals light. It does not nourish it; because any where there is darkness you will not be comfortable there. So as a child of God, you are to shine as light in the midst of darkness. He wants you to shine with blazing intensity. He wants men to see your good works and glorify your heavenly Father. For when the light refuses to shine, it gives room for darkness to reign. This is the reason why it is dangerous for children of God; to abandon politics in the hands of the children of disobedience. These children of disobedience will continue to vote for politicians, who are their spiritual kinsmen. Christians have no moral justification to complain of bad governance, if they refuse to shine as light in the political scenes of their country. The reason darkness did not overcome Jesus Christ was that, as the light of the world, he shone throughout his earthly ministry. From our anchor scripture, you understand that to shine in this world of darkness requires wisdom. It therefore follows that it is foolish to light your spiritual candle of salvation; and hide it under the table. Of course, it is only a matter of time before the light goes out.

Again, we observe that the responsibility is yours to fan your zeal aglow. God is telling you what you can do. If you couldn’t be aglow and burning with the Spirit, He wouldn’t ask you to do it. He is telling you to do it because He has given you the power, the ability, to do it. If you are a student, beam the light of the glorious Gospel in the academic world. If you are a businessman, a policeman, a soldier, a politician, a fashion designer, a lawyer or an athlete, impact your world and change your environment. You are to be the light of the world, therefore let your light shine for all to see.

Great Reward Awaits You For Your Kindness

Great Reward Awaits You For Your Kindness

Philippians 4:17-19

Being prosperous means a lot more than amassing wealth for yourself; rather, it involves being able to help others. The reason God has blessed you; is so you can serve Him and bless others, because great reward awaits you for your kindness.

Now if you are enjoying God’s love, you must be ready to give something in return to him as a demonstration of your love for Him. From our anchor scripture, this was demonstrated by the church at Philippi. Paul reported that they were the only ones; who stood with him during the period of his trial and need. After he left Macedonia, some churches used that as an excuse not to support him anymore, but not the brethren at Philippi. Even after he travelled to Thessalonica, they repeatedly sent provisions to meet his needs there. Therefore true prosperity is looking out for opportunities to be a blessing to others. It’s finding joy and excitement in helping and extending love to others. A truly prosperous person is of a benevolent spirit; he is quick to give, and derives joy in helping others become prosperous. In our society today, some people still hide under the cover of distance, to shy away from showing love through giving. They would say, you are far away and that is why it is difficult to send assistance to you. It makes no difference if you have; had unpleasant experiences in trying to help someone. Perhaps you have helped someone become successful who eventually turned against you; don’t become bitter. Keep up the good work, knowing that the Lord will reward your act of kindness. As challenging as it was then, the brethren in Philippi found a way around the difficulties and supported Paul.

They became a major financial backbone, of the ministry of Paul. Paul declared that by virtue of their being so sacrificial in giving, he was full, having all his needs met. Just as you have needs, so does God have needs. If you can meet Gods needs, He will surely meet yours. The project of expanding, God’s kingdom on earth has needs. There is therefore a need to support anyone, or any cause that is dedicated to meeting these needs. Therefore remain the helper and the giver, for great reward awaits you for your kindness to someone in need today.

You Have To Control Your Appetite

You Have To Control Your Appetite

Proverbs 23:6

Refuse to condescend to the low level of being controlled by your senses. Esteem God’s word beyond everything the world can offer, this is why you have to control your appetite.

Now in His infinite wisdom, God designed the human body to require food and water for sustenance. Being the Maker of all things, He is conscious of the fact that He created us with the basic need for food and drink, and He promised to provide these for us. As a child of God, you therefore need not to allow the anxiety of what to eat or drink overwhelm your heart in any way. For instance a certain day in the Bible, Esau was hungry and wanted some food from his brother Jacob. When Jacob asked for the birthright in exchange, Esau’s reply showed that he had no regard for it, though it was sacred. Look, I am about to die. What good is the birthright to me. Esau said, he knew that the birthright had blessings, but that didn’t mean anything to him. He sold his birthright to Jacob for food; and didn’t consider the spiritual implication of his action. Because he did not control his appetite it cost him the inheritance, which his younger brother got in his place. So delicacies are expensive, mouth watering meal received for kings, rulers, wealthy individuals and their companions. They are so temping because they are specially packaged to make them irresistible, and they typically have a lovely aroma, sumptuous appearance and fantastic taste. Although delicacies or dainties are not in themselves evil, they are often associated with evil because Satan and his agents tend to use them as a bait to lure innocent souls into developing an unhealthy appetite for them.

So to enjoy life and peace, you must have high esteem for spiritual things. Don’t end up like Esau did; have regard for spiritual things like Jacob. He was after the blessing, which is spiritual and greater. Therefore the story of Daniel and his companions; clearly shows that basic food and drink are sufficient, and not inferior to exotic delicacies and wine in providing the energy and nutrition that our bodies need to function effectively. The unhealthy appetite for delicacies and dainties has turned many Christians into sycophants and puppets, doing the bidding of wealthy and powerful leaders in order to keep up with certain levels of comfort; this why you have to control your appetite today.
