From scriptures, we understand that every child of God is ordained a global and mountaintop citizen. That means you are ordained to bless and not to be a burden to your world. However, to fulfil that glorious, colourful and enviable destiny, you must beware of pride.
Even the original sin of Adam and Eve was not mere disobedience, but at the heart of it was pride, quietly lurking in a corner. The fact that Adam and Eve wanted to be like God, reveals a form of hidden pride. Ironically, eating the forbidding fruit led to the opening of their eyes, increasing them in knowledge and wisdom. It turned their attention away from God and they became focused on their outward appearance. They immediately developed the ability, confidence and independence to decide and act on their own without any recourse to God their maker. This is the same fatal foolishness that has plagued the human race ever since. Pride has been correctly identified by many as the greatest woe which can quickly destroy anyone captured by it. I must tell you the truth; apart from impure thoughts and cravings of the body, another area in which you must exert your victory over the flesh is pride. So you must beware of pride; because every proud individual is headed for a fall and proud people end up being destroyed.
There are some things that man cannot do because he is limited sometimes by space, resources, or knowledge; but our God is a limit breaker.
It is important that you know, and take advantage of the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life as a Christian. Without the Holy Spirit, all you can do is what man can do; in other words, you will be limited. With Him, all things are possible and your potentials are limitless, because you are sufficient in His sufficiency. You might be limited in one way or the other, but today, every wall or boundary that has hemmed you in will be lifted in Jesus Mighty Name. Our God is limitless, He is the Elshaddia, the all powerful more than enough God. In 2kings 4 vs 3, Elisha understood these attributes of God when he encountered the widow with the pot of oil who needed money to pay her debts. He told her not to borrow a few but a lot of vessels because he knew the God that would bless her is a God of abundance. God filled all the empty vessels the widow brought with oil and she had surplus after paying her debts. This shows that God is limitless and has capacity.
Bible says, in Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. This tells us that God is unlimited, omnipotent, and all power in heaven and on earth belongs to Him. In Acts 16:26, Paul and Silas were in jail, limited by the walls of the prison and the chains binding them. However, because God is not limited by space or any force, He visited Paul and Silas where they were praising Him. Suddenly, there was an earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken and the prison doors were opened and the chains were loosed. This shows that nothing can limit the work of God in your life. Every restriction, confinement, inadequacy, insufficiency, be it spiritual or physical that is limiting your progress, shall fall down flat in Jesus Might Name. Nothing can stop your blessing from coming, for our God is a limit breaker.
Afflictions, means the state of being in pain and it is a situation every Christian pray against. It is one of the challenges, that could easily fades away the faith and hope; of a believer but know that afflictions can never swallow God.
As a true child of God, your body is a temple of God and because God reigns, no afflictions will survive in your life again. The Lord can solve whatever challenges you may be facing right now, no matter how difficult they seem. Maybe you are experiencing a problem with your studies in school, and you feel swallowed up. Or perhaps, you feel confused, not knowing what to do about that nagging situation in your family. It is as if the devil has gotten hold of you and has you drowning. Don’t despair the Lord is with you to bring you out of that trouble. The Bible says, in Nahum 1 vs 9: What do ye imagine against the Lord? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. All you have to do is to put your trust in God. Don’t give up. God has made a way of escape for you, and you are coming out on top of that situation.
One of the most profound statements in the Bible was made by Job. In Job 19:25, He said: For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. At the time he said this, he was in a most distressing situation. Things were very bad indeed. He had lost all his wealth, property, children and even his health. However, in spite of his ordeal, he still proclaimed that God was alive. Many people tend to believe that God is not alive or that He is not who He says He is, just because of the severe trials of faith they are facing. Ordinarily, problems could swallow you, but God’s presence with you makes it impossible. This is God’s solemn vow to you. This should give you great confidence and assurance that He will never allow anyone or anything swallow you up. Problems can never take God away. He doesn’t cease to exist just because He has not answered your prayers. How much faith can you repose in God while going through difficult times. This is a true test of your character, but be rest assured that afflictions can never swallow God.
You were born at the right time; in this period in life, where fulfillment becomes purpose and purpose becomes reality.
In the book of Ecclesiastes, we read about the revelation of God’s purposes to the hearts of human beings. God has not only given you a purpose, but, according to this Scripture, He has also determined the time for that purpose to be accomplished. There is a time for every purpose. Whatever you were born to do, God has assigned a season in which it is to be done and that season is the duration of your life. The Lord in His infinite wisdom designed the heavens and the earth, and He allotted times and seasons to every plan and purpose. The timing of every act, the duration of each scene and the role of each actor strictly follows a divine script written by God Himself. Do you see why it is crucial for you to know the vision that is in your heart. Your purpose can be fulfilled only during the time you are given on earth to accomplish it. Nothing happen without time, everything happens by time. Time gives light to darkness, time gives answer to question, time gives solution to problem, time gives clarity to confusion, time gives peace to unrest, time gives confidence to weak, time gives wisdom to foolishness and new beginning to the end. Within this season called life, God has also appointed specific times for portions of your purpose to be accomplished.
Bible says; in Ecclesiastes 3 vs 11: He has made everything beautiful in its time. Set your mind on God’s purpose for your life. That’s what counts, it has to be a revelation that you accept, endorse and imbibe into your spirit; a knowledge that is a controlling principle in your life. That means everywhere you go, and everything you do, you are inspired by God’s eternal purpose and perfect will for your life. Every vision is fulfill by time, every mission is accomplish by proper time usage. Love grows by time, financial freedom becomes real by time. Your children needs time to comprehend your teaching. You wife needs time for her respect to flows to you. Some people wish they had been born during a different time in history. Yet if you had been born a thousand years ago, or even a hundred years ago, you would have been miserable because you would have been living in the wrong time to complete your purpose and vision. You were born at the right time to accomplish your vision during your generation.
Besides sowing seeds, a heart of obedience is another key factor that can trigger a miraculous harvest in your life.
The whole essence of obedience is blessing. So a heart of obedience; enables you to obey God’s voice and ultimately enjoy the blessing. Obedience or disobedience, is beyond the capacity of man to obey or disobey. There is a spirit behind both disobedience and obedience. No child wants to wake up and disobey God; there is a spirit of disobedience working against them. Now God’s Word through Prophet Ezekiel is an extraordinary blessing for you, if you are born again. God has given you a soft and malleable heart; a heart that is easily yielded to, and influenced by, His Word. You have a soft heart towards God; an obedient heart. May the Lord grant you grace to obey Him completely in Jesus Name. To enter into this realm of obedience, all you need to receive is the divine directive, and immediately you comply with it, you will have your miracle.
For instance in John 2:1-12, Jesus and His mother were invited to a wedding in Cana of Galilee. At some point, they ran out of wine. His mother came to tell Him of their need, but He simply said it was not yet time for a miracle. Preempting Jesus, maybe based on experience, Mary told the servants present to wait on Him, receive any instruction from Him and carry it out to the letter. Later, the Lord instructed them to fill up some water pots with water. The servants thought of arguing with Him that what was needed at the party was wine and not water, but remembering Mary’s strict instructions to do whatever He asked them to do, they complied. Therefore, Jesus asked them to fetch some of the water and serve the chairman of the wedding feast. Again, they wanted to argue, but recalling what Mary said, they obeyed. They took it to the chairman but, prepared a ready made answer should he taste it and ask why they served him water. However, on their way, the water became wine. You see, He alone can give you a heart of obedience, with power over sin; power to live for Him and to please Him. Are you willing to obey Him today, the choice is yours.
The Christian journeyis more often than not a long distance race. This is particularly true because of the long life that our heavenly fatherhas promised us. So a godly passion is a deep motivation to serve the Lord.
Passion is the juice for living. For many people, life is drudgery. They have no motivation in regard to their jobs, spouses, education, or personal development. Someone once said that the most difficult thing about life is that it is so daily. Passion helps you to rise above your daily routines. If you are not motivated, then you will become a weight or burden to others. When you have passion, you don’t need the right conditions to move forward because passion is internally generated and is not affected by external conditions. It is important to recognise that we are the offspring of God and the epitome of success. This is because at redemption, we were ordained men and women of outstanding and unusual feats. Thus, as no failure son is a pride to the father, you can never be a source of pride to God in your failure state. God rejoices over only His outstanding children like a natural father will do. He is the Most High; so, we cannot be the lowest and say we are His children. However, it is important to understand that the Kingdom of God operates on keys; without which we may not attain the height God has destined for us.
A godly passion is one of the four dimensional keys for outstanding success. Everyone born into this world is separated for something. Everyone is separated to a well defined purpose. Where does passion come from? First, it comes from a sense of purpose. You are pursuing something that gives your life meaning. If you become distracted or opposition stands in your way, your destiny still pulls you in the direction of your desire because you can’t imagine not fulfilling it. Second, passion comes from having a sense of destiny. Passion comes from something outside this world and is
connected to it. If you get your passion from something on earth, then when it stops, you will stop. As it is written in Jeremiah 1 vs 5: Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. So godly passion comes from having a sense of purpose and destiny.
Every child of God; must personally endeavour not to be caught in the web of worldliness and insatiable appetite for material things like Esau, Gehazi and Judas Iscariot. You must learn to be contented with what you have in this world.
The Church of Jesus Christ, in this dispensation has been robbed of godliness due to lack of contentment. The desperation many so called children of God exhibit in their search of money has deprived them of living a godly life. The moment a person makes up his mind to focus his passion and life on seeking after the things of God, he becomes very content with life. There are lots of people who are not enjoying their lives because they are being consumed with the mundane things of this world. As a child of God, your focus and attention should centre on the Word of God which will help you live life with a sense of fulfilment. It is not the abundance of what you have; that determines the joy you get in life. When others are running after money and doing terrible and inordinate things for money, seek the wisdom of God. Bible says in proverbs 8 vs 10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. Go for wisdom; don’t let money be your motivation. Money is a tool. If you function in divine wisdom, money will come to
you, because money responds to wisdom.
There are people, who focus on gaining worldly possessions, but those who know the essence of life, will focus on things of the spirit and they will not allow the lust of this world to consume their hearts. It is no news that the greatest problem of man is greed; it is also the major cause of underdevelopment in many nations, as those that have been entrusted with the resources are continually greedily trying to acquire more money. Maintain a good conscience. It is not what you have in the bank that counts; it’s who you are on the inside that really counts. So be contented with what you have, for God is more than able to supply all your needs, as you put your trust in Him and follow His instructions today.
One reason why the Word fails to deliver its potential to us is our attitude to it. This includes how we see and receive the Word. If you casually take the Word as ordinary, you render it powerless, but if you take it seriously, it will aid your spiritual development. The Word is good for us because it brings hope to a hopeless situation, brings life to a lifeless situation and reverses the irreversible. The Word is the platform on which you should lay the foundation of your desires and requests. The moment the Word is released by God on any issue of life, you can safely act on it. There is a great depth in God’s Word. By engaging the Word, you are opening yourself up to great revelations, hidden treasures and fresh insight. The Word of God is one of the weapons with which you can fight the devil and every unpleasant situation of life. With the Word, you can begin to defeat the enemy during temptations and attacks. The Word is good for renewing your mind, because it reveals God’s thoughts to you, and it makes you see things through God’s eyes. I decree that the Word that will change your life for good and have a great impact upon your destiny will come quickly in Jesus name. So in order to be a victorious Christian; you need to upgrade yourself with the word of God today.
The Lord Jesus did all that He did so that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles, and it has. Now that you are born again, you have received the promise of the Spirit; you are now the seed of Abraham, so your heritage is greatness.
Therefore, it makes no difference how hostile the environment in which you find yourself, you will always win. You will always come out prosperous, because you have the inherent ability to prosper. You are graced for excellence. Christ in you is your power to condition your environment to produce the results that you want. So, unlike the children of Israel, whose greatness was preconditioned on their obedience to the Law, we, the new creation in Christ were born great; so your heritage is greatness in Christ.
I learnt from scripture; that consecration and commitment are the springboard to experiencing higher levels of God in ministry. Beyond consecration and commitment, another criterion for accessing a higher level of God in ministry is that, you have to change focus.
If you retain your old focus and pursue your old goals, there is no way you can attain your desired heights. There must be a change in focus, as you grow in Christ and move up in ministry, what you pursue must change. Bible says inRevelation 21:1; And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. This world is not your permanent home; you are here only as a pilgrim. According to the Bible, we are only going to be in this world for a season because one day, the whole earth will be replaced with another one. Therefore, you must set your focus on those things that truly matter, and not on the transient pleasures of this present world. Until, you come to that level in your life where Christ is your focus, you will be living an empty life. You must move your focus from earth to Heaven; you must stop looking down or sideways and start looking up.
Many men of God never get to this level because as soon as they are endowed with certain gifts of the Spirit or some miraculous works are made manifest in their ministry, they will begin to calculate how they can use what they have to get what they need; forgetting that it is God who supplies the needs of His servants. Sometimes you may think you need something whereas it is a want, consequently, God may not give it to you at that point in time. Some people in this type of situation will go all out, even to the extent of pulling every trick in the book just to get such things. Anything you acquire that God has not given to you will surely bring you trouble. Let nothing else compete with your love for the Lord. Therefore; you have to change focus, for Christ sake and pay attention on the expansion of His kingdom.
